Stick private memos on your messages

Remind yourself of something you need to do, when you paid a bill, notes from a side conversation, or anything else.

Add a memo to an email to jot down some private notes. Maybe the conversation continued on the phone, or you want to add a reminder of something you need to do. Your memos are fully searchable and you can edit or delete them at any time.

Frequently asked questions

  • Can other people see my memos?

No. Memos are not sent to anyone else in the thread. Only you can see them.

  • Can I search my memos?

Yes. You can find all messages that have a memo by searching for has:memo. You can also just search for any words you’ve written in a memo — we’ll find it for you.

  • Can I see my memos in my inbox or other message list?

Yes. When a message in the conversation has a memo, this will show before the preview of the message contents in your inbox.

  • Can I see my memos in other email apps?

Yes. When you use a third-party email app, like Outlook, Thunderbird, or Apple Mail, you’ll see your memos as regular replies in the conversation, with no recipients, stored in a folder called Memos.
